Made in a beautiful heavy silk, cut on the bias and fully lined in silk..stunning..
I bought this dress for my wedding in June and it was perfect. Purchased from the designer Jane Bourvis’ vintage boutique in West London. https://www.janebourvis.com/silks/octavia-gown
They only sell one size in this dress and say it generally fits a bride size 8-12 with adjustments. I’m a size 10 and it was perfect on me- I had no adjustments other than the hem. I am 5ft 6 and wore a 3 inch heel. There is a bussle loop sewn in to hold up the train.
I have had the dress dry cleaned and there are a few faint marks in the train we had trouble getting out completely- all pictured. The more prominent one you can see is on the underside not the top. But there is no staining on the body of the dress and it’s still so gorgeous and in such good condition.
There is a little slightly creasing patch on the tummy area -but I’m not sure if that’s always been there and is just how the silk is and I haven’t noticed before- but I didn’t manage to steam it out so wanted to mention that!
I can send a video of the dress/ how it moves to anyone interested to get a real sense of it!
(Jane Bourvis I found via a vogue article about vintage/sustainable w dresses!)
